Biografía

Cursó estudios de Ingeniería técnica, Arquitectura y Diseño industrial en Barcelona. Se dedica por entero a la creación artística desde edad muy temprana, alternando la pintura con la escultura, siempre en tendencias vanguardistas, que le llevan a incorporar a su obra materiales muy diversos.

Destaca su personalidad, identificada en la pintura con el cinetismo*, de raíz onírica, y en la escultura con las invenciones de Gargallo. Fruto de esta tendencia es la obra corpórea que realiza para incorporar a la arquitectura, tanto de interiores como de exteriores, a base de ensamblar cintas de hierro, con las que logra figuraciones de vaga referencia y sentido moderadamente expresionista.

En 1965 comienza a pintar y esculpir partiendo de una concepción personal del figurativo hasta llegar a la comprensión de lo abstracto y evoluciona hacia obras de base estrictamente geométrica-matemática. Después de su primera exposición personal en Barcelona (GALERÍA AS, 1970) basada en el Arte Cinético, Alexandre Cirici (Ediciones 62, 1970, EL ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO CATALÁN) lo define como claro exponente de la corriente gestáltica de Cataluña. En aquella época también comienza a realizar trabajos de diseño industrial y gráfico.

En 1983 y hasta el año 2000 fue CEO de la empresa MASTER DESIGN, dedicada a los proyectos de imagen corporativa, desarrollo de producto, identificación urbana o entornos de trabajo y arquitectura. Desde 2003 está centrado exclusivamente en la creación escultórica en diversidad de materiales y técnicas industriales, con Kosme de Barañano como estrecho colaborador.

Su obra está representada en destacados ámbitos arquitectónicos de España e Italia y en entidades oficiales y particulares.

*Es una tendencia de la pintura, escultura, artesanías contemporáneas que hace referencia a aquellas obras creadas para producir la impresión o ilusión de movimiento. El término tiene su origen en la rama de la mecánica que investiga la relación entre el movimiento de los cuerpos y las fuerzas que actúan sobre ellos.

Aunque el concepto apareció por primera vez en el Manifiesto realista firmado en 1920 por Antón Pevsner y Naum Gabo, su uso no se generalizó hasta la década de 1959. En la actualidad se conoce como arte cinético todas aquellas obras que producen en el espectador sensación de inestabilidad y movimiento a través de ilusiones ópticas, las que cambian de aspecto en virtud de la posición desde donde se contemplen y las que crean una aparente sensación de movimiento por la iluminación sucesiva de alguna de sus partes (los anuncios de neón).

Biography
He studied Technical Engineering, Architecture and Industrial Design in Barcelona. He devotes himself entirely to artistic creation from a very early age, alternating painting with sculpture, always in avant-garde tendencies, which lead him to incorporate very diverse materials into his work.
It emphasizes its personality, identified in the painting with the cinetismo *, of oniric root, and in the sculpture with the inventions of Gargallo. The result of this trend is the corporeal work he performs to incorporate architecture, both interior and exterior, based on assembling iron tapes, with which he achieves figurations of vague reference and moderately expressionist sense.
In 1965, he began to paint and sculpt from a personal conception of the figurative until he came to an understanding of the abstract and evolved towards strictly geometrical-mathematical works. After his first personal exhibition in Barcelona (GALERÍA AS, 1970) based on the Kinetic Art, Alexandre Cirici (Ediciones 62, 1970, EL ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO CATALÁN) defines him as a clear exponent of the gestalt current in Catalonia. At that time, he also began to do industrial and graphic design work.

In 1983 and until 2000, he was CEO of the company MASTER DESIGN, dedicated to corporate image projects, product development, urban identification or work environments and architecture. Since 2003, he has focused exclusively on the sculptural creation of diverse materials and industrial techniques, with Kosme de Barañano as a close collaborator.

His work is represented in prominent architectural areas of Spain and Italy and in official and private entities.
